Olmec mask with typical features and two perforations likely used to hang it. From Guerrero region based on typical type of stone and slightly hooked nose. Olmec time period around 1200-400 BC.
Pot with an image. Found in House of the Eagles. Face corresponds to elderly person and could represent god of fire, Xiuhtecuhtli. Possibly taken from Teotihuacan, a sacred city to the Aztecs.
Materials from the Teotihuacan tradition have been found at Templo Mayor. Teotihuacan was abandoned 600+ years before Tenochtitlan was founded, but was a sacred place for Aztecs. They believed that the transformation of the god Nanhuatl into the Fifth Sun took place there.
